Buns & Patties

A 1970’s built Taco Bell turned modern diner featuring a late-night smashburger menu, our clients were inspired by the ubiquitous burger counters found throughout the metro Detroit region where generations of blue-collar workers posted up for a burger after their shifts. Given the late-night business orientation, we chose a dark palette inside and out with classic midcentury cherry wood and walnut accents, glazed terracotta tile, and humble fixturing. The space evokes a moody diner while featuring murals by Jesse Kassel, some playful neon moments, and an upright game console that the owners had played together when they first dreamed up the idea for Buns & Patties.

Berkshire

Interior design and exterior styling for a new construction home built by Hawasli Homes. The exterior approach flips the familiar modern farmhouse look on its head by utilizing an Iron Grey exterior cladding with dark bronze window sashes and pine accents. The interior features a warm white transitional style inspired by a textured scandinavian palette.

Washington

Built in 1910, this sprawling estate with dramatic proportions features all original detailing in both plaster and wood, 11’-0'“ ceilings, and a wide, deep staircase. With an addition’s architecture by Patrick Ahearn Design, our task was to drive the interior design that feels appropriate for the period while also introducing decidedly contemporary fixtures and finishes.

LA Condo

Kitchen and living/dining space design for a condo in an Art Deco era building. The plan incorporates a large column into the Deco inspired L-shape kitchen, allowing for a full dining space to exist within a small footprint. An undulating wall creates a nook for the TV and some prized belongings while speaking in a contemporary voice to the period origins of the building.

Kitchen Remodel 01

A 1950’s built home with attached single story garage addition completed in the 1980’s to be demolished and replaced with a new side-entry and garage, mudroom, laundry and 1/2 bath with a primary suite on the new second level. The architecture largely retains the existing hip-roof profile and red brick facade which is separated by a narrow connector to signify the contemporary nature of the addition.
